How to Add a Sitemap to Google Search Console
Steps:
Log into your Google Search Console account
Open your browser and go to Google Search Console. Enter your credentials to sign in.
Click on "Sitemaps"
In the left-hand sidebar, find the "Index" section, and click on "Sitemaps". This will open the area where you can submit your sitemap URL.
Open your sitemap in a new browser tab
Open a new tab in your browser, go to your website’s URL, and add /sitemap.xml at the end of your domain (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml). Once it loads, copy the full URL from the address bar.
Paste the sitemap URL
Go back to the Google Search Console window. In the "Add a new sitemap" field, paste the copied sitemap URL (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml).
Click "Submit"
After pasting the URL, click on "Submit" to send the sitemap to Google.
Confirm Successful Submission
A confirmation message will appear showing the submission was successful. After confirming, click "Dismiss" to close the message.
